Another week of fighting the weather and the couch to get out on the roads. Even some of the parkruns suffered this week. Taking on the remaining parkruns this week were: Valley parkrun: Neil Campbell 20:13, Laura “ice cream with a flake” Rose 23:48 (2nd female finisher), Nuala “really big ice cream with a flake”…
Another quiet week for racing, both on and off the road, as most of us were focused on the latest Brexit developments. Or not. Taking on the parkruns this week were: Valley parkrun: Tom Fleming 20:01, Neil McCready 22:56, Alan Erwin 23:47, Laura Rose 24:09 (first female finisher), Karen McKee 24:40 (second female finisher), Paul…
Well, it was a week where we all took a breath and gathered ourselves after the big effort of organising and/or running a huge XC event. Then again, judging by Strava, for many it was a week of 5am alarm calls and running 7 miles every four hours. You know who you are! One we…
December ROTM nominations were dominated by two events, Cross Country and the Seeley Cup. Suzanne Brennan was nominated for rounding up and leading the ladies XC team in to battle in the Athletics NI XC league. Club newcomer Ramunas Stanevicius received several nominations for some excellent PBs, race performances and team XC participation. Definitely a…
“Blow, blow, thou winter wind, thou art not so unkind as man’s ingratitude; Thy tooth is not so keen, because thou art not seen, although thy breath be rude.” So said my bro’ Willy Shakespeare. My new year’s resolution is to be less sarcastic and more positive. How long do you think this fairy tale will last?! Anyway, resolutions are like kids – more fun making than keeping. On with the results… Late result from last week was Dawn Dubois completing the EAMS 10k on Sunday 31st in 1:21:50. On…
Too many selection boxes and too many germs in Chateau Cavillator and too many races to report. So it’s less talk and more action this week. As promised last week, here’s the Harrier results from the Leg It Hazelbank 5 Mile Xmas Run on 23rd. Seems a long time ago now! Alan Ladd 30:08PB, Joe…
Yes folks, it that time of year again. The time when just three little words can strike fear into the bravest – “some assembly required”. The time when nothing says Xmas like queueing for an overpriced German sausage outside City Hall. My club mates have come round to our house every year for the last…
November has been and gone in the blink of an eye and many Harriers are getting into the festive spirit, some more than others as we seen from hungover XC. Some Harriers stood out again in November, including Louise Ladd who was nominated for stepping up and being part of a fantastic ladies XC team,…
Karen McKee, Maeve Dunseath, Sarah McCafferty and Stephen Gallagher each received nominations this month for their positive attitudes and progress. Without a doubt it has been a great month for all four with regular training paying off across many distances and terrains, with some even braving the madness of the cross country. As always of…
