A fairly quiet week this week for racing and results. You must all be focusing on your strength training or cleaning your XC spikes. Or maybe just bingeing Happy Valley. All equally painful. Taking on the parkruns this week: Valley parkrun: Adam McCann 18:17PB and first finisher, Neil Campbell 21:59, Nuala Muldoon 24:39, Coach Sinead…
Well, the good news this week was that training was back. The bad news, training was back. Taking on the parkruns this week: Valley parkrun: Ben Davidson 22:05, Elijah Cushley 23:31, Nuala Muldoon 24:31, Leo McAuley 26:28, Eloise McAuley 26:39, Micky McAuley 26:45, ADav 28:17, Cathy Ryan 28:46, Stephen Curran 29:24, Sharon Dunn 30:05, Owen…
“Freeze, freeze, thou bitter sky, that dost not bite so nigh as benefits forgot: Though thou the waters warp, thy sting is not so sharp as friend remembered not.” No, not the thoughts of the modern day philosopher, Taylor Swift, but actually some auld fella called Shakespeare. Not sure what he was on about to…
A new year miracle today as the sun actually shone on the Mallusk Harrier XC event, a bit. But at least the rain stayed away. And the wind. And the snow. Result! Mud was still there though. And those hills. And the mud. Did I mention the mud? First of all, a late result off…
Hopefully by this stage you’ve finally finished off the last of the brie and the Christmas cake and the new year’s resolutions are still intact. My resolution to stay off PBs for the whole year is working really well so far. Just need to hang in there. Taking on the parkruns this week: Valley parkrun:…
Apologies for the lack of reports over Xmas. Being the elite athlete that I am, (stop sniggering at the back) I was away at a high altitude training camp over the holidays. Bet the Hill Tavern’s never been called that before. So quite a few parkruns to catch up on: Christmas Eve Valley parkrun: Tom…
Training cancelled, roads too icy to run on, even XC was cancelled. I decided to switch my training up a bit because of it. Instead of a morning run I did some strength work. By strength work I mean that I watched Die Hard. Alone. All in one go. With no interruptions. It is not…
I just need to state for the record that a jammy joey is not a proper snowball. And never will be. Anyhow.. Taking on the parkruns this week were: Valley parkrun: ADav 22:54, Stevo Armour 25:13, Coach Sinead O’Hare 25:36, Emily Murphy 26:26, Elaine Kennedy 32:18, Martin McCready 1:01:04 And a word of thanks to…
Christmas. The season of goodwill, mince pies, egg nog (whatever that is), Xmas parties and, evidently, leather trousers. Did I miss that meeting? Martin Luther King Jr, Winston Churchill, Julius Caesar, Abraham Lincoln, Barack Obama. All legendary public speakers. But move over boys, we’ve a new name for the list. Those in attendance last night…
Many thanks to Work Experience Boy for covering last week. Over the long years of our close association he has progressed, slowly and painfully, from barely adequate to almost readable. Due to this improvement, he has been sacked. Firstly, a few late results off the Vidiprinter. We had a huge turnout for last week’s XC…
