Club Report: Sunday 7th January 2018
I was going to start by letting you know my new year’s resolution but, as I’m already perfect, I don’t need to make any. But good luck with yours. Maybe its to get faster, whilst still filling yourself with alcohol and cake.
But on to the results…
Race Over The Glens:
Held back on New Year’s Day, the results were in too late for last week’s report but some of the Harriers blew away the new year cobwebs with this popular, if tough, event: Lee O’Boyle (our new ROTM) 41:28, Micky McAuley 42:40, Sarah McCafferty 1:01:08, Pamela McCafferty 1:01:09,

IAAF Antrim International XC:
Also on 6th was this top class event, with CAFRE Greenmount hosting a world class international field. It was great to see the Harriers out mixing it with the big boys and girls and competing as a team as well as individuals:
Men’s Senior Race:
Mark Smith 30:48, Alan Ladd 36:23, Kevin Donnelly 38:16, Neil McCready 38:24 (and winner of best photo competition)
Women’s Senior Race:
Nuala Muldoon 30:02, Suzanne Brennan 30:46, Angela Stevenson 35:06. As a team, the MH ladies came 10th overall. Great team effort. The men’s results are still something of a mystery.
So 2017 is over, the slates have been wiped clean.
It’s time to buckle up and hit the roads in pursuit of those PBs and new distances all over again. We’re a club, so support each other. It’s always easier to hit your targets with others helping you along the way.
To help, here’s the perfect tune to run to. If I can’t improve your running, at least I might improve your musical taste.
