Club Run Report – 28th December 2021

The parkrun Gods have smiled on me this year and made Xmas Day a Saturday. No double results! And still the report is late. To be honest, I am still trying to work out whether to stop living solely off chocolate and cheese or if I should just use these After Eights as crackers to finish off the brie.

Taking on the Xmas day parkruns this week were:
Valley parkrun:
Kevin Donnelly 19:32, Micky McAuley 20:14PB, ADav 22:07, Alan Erwin 24:01, Eloise McAuley 24:23PB, Elijah Cushley 24:39, David Esler 27:03, Emily Murphy 27:59, Anton Piatek 30:21, Leo McAuley 1:00:31

And welcome Kevin to your first Valley parkrun!

Wallace parkrun:
Elaine Kennedy 31:05

Stormont parkrun:
Stephen Semple 24:27, Lord Ian Brennan 26:51

Derry City parkrun:
Johnny Carey 24:32
Jordanstown junior parkrun:
Joseph Eager 8:51 and first finisher, Matthew Hawkins 11:17 and second finisher

In other racing, Aidy Hughes continued his 2021 5k tour of darkest Tyrone, this time completing the Brocagh Bay Boxing Day 5k in 26:20.

On the same day, Bernard McKeaveney forgot about the Turkey Run and so entered the Titanic Festival 10k, finishing in 52:13.

This week’s tune is dedicated to Jim Howe of St Louis Missouri. He may not be a Harrier but he invented Tums, the first indigestion tablet. For that, I will be forever grateful. Sir, we salute you. With more wine and more cheese. And more tablets.

Until next week, behave.
