Club Report: Sunday 25th February 2018

Well, a few of us headed out this week to get our training done before the world ends next week due to 1cm of snow.

Valley parkrun:

Neil McCready 23:34, Paul Skillen 24:35, Owen Fulton 27:57, Frances Kane 30:31, Erin Teer 44:22, Patricia Kane 46:35

Waterworks parkrun:

Sharon McCavana 30:42, Katherine McCloskey 33:34 PB

Antrim parkrun:

Sarah Knowles 23:31 PB, Alan Kerr 23:32, Deborah Ewing 27:28, Elaine Kennedy 27:29, Fiona Wylie 29:03 PB, Fidelma McCoppin 29:27, Jennifer McCoppin 30:43 PB, Rosalind Stitt 34:26, Sharon Thompson 35:02, Nikki Fleck 37:45, Aimee Fleck 37:48 PB, Deirdre McCann 38:35, Claire Skillen 42:29, Lucy Fleck 45:23

Victoria parkrun:

Susan Thompson 23:07, Ken McAuley 23:07, Sophie Davidson 32:42, Ben Davidson 32:46, ADav 32:50

Queen’s parkrun:

Carol Leckie 26:47

Carrickfergus parkrun:

Owen Millar 29:21

Colin Glen parkrun:

Stephen Semple 24:12, Maeve Kennedy 26:53

Our parkrun tourists this week were Anna-Marie Nolan at Monaghan Town in 27:22 and Leo and Micky McAuley at Rostrevor. Micky may have still been feeling the after effects of his 100 mile effort the previous weekend as Leo had him in his pocket 35:10 to 35:33.

Waterworks Junior parkrun:

Joseph Eager 9:59

Well done Joseph on completing 50 junior parkruns and getting your Ultra band!

There were a few other events on this weekend that were both honoured and lifted by the presence of our Harriers.

Born 2 Run Castlewellan

Dermot Boyd completed the 10k in 1:11:48.

It should also be noted that Dermot did the B2R Gosford 10k last weekend in 1:09:25 but the results came in too late for last week’s report.

Over on the dark side, it was the end of the XC season, finishing with the NI & Ulster Senior XC Championship in Lurgan Park. This was also the final fixture in the Athletics NI XC League 17/18.

Benny McGeown made his slightly delayed XC debut and had to complete a long 12k distance to make up for his pathetic no show in the snow at Mallusk two weeks ago. His wife is still laughing.

Nuala Muldoon, as usual, was there. Nuala, as usual, forgot her spikes. Nuala, as usual, ran really well completing the 6k ladies race in 32:48.

The men were represented in the 12k race by Mark Smith 49:05, Lee O’Boyle 55:01 and Benny McGeown 1:04:51.

Well done to any Harrier who represented the club at any of the XC events over the season. Hopefully we can get a few more next year. Every runner means team points so its not only for the speed merchants. Embrace the muck.

Our furthest travelled tourist this week was Neil “anything to get out of the housework” Campbell who snuck off to Malta for a half marathon with a cracking PB of 1:28.

There was a Resolution Run at Queen’s today and several distances at Kirkistown racetrack but results are not made available and all you naughty people have stopped posting results on Team App.

I thought about making this week’s tune a bit quieter as there are definitely some sore heads after that quiz last night. (Never mention Tyrone or Billy Ray Cyrus to me again). But I’ve got over it so this week’s tune is a “unique” cover of a song that needs to be on everyone’s running playlist.

Like running for some of us, it’s so bad it’s brilliant.

Club Report: Sunday 18th February 2018

Not so many other events this weekend (with one slightly mental exception) and so the Harriers headed for the parkruns, especially the Valley, mainly gamely incorporating parkruns into their long runs for the week.

Valley parkrun:
Neil Campbell 19:48, Ken McAuley 22:19, Susan Thompson 23:56 (First lady finisher), Tony McKeating 26:05, Olivia Thompson 26:45, Clare Teer 27:21, Gabrielle McMillan 30:47, Frances Kane 31:00, David Esler 32:14, Marie McFarlane 32:53, Debbie Sterritt 33:26, Yasmin Lynn 33:59, Yvonne Thompson 35:13, Katherine McCloskey 35:13, Alyson Taylor 35:19, Freda Stubbs ROTM 36:30, Josi McKeating 36:30, Patricia Kane 36:43, Rosalind Stitt 36:44, Nuala Lyttle 37:15, Maeve McGinley 37:15, Sharon Thompson 39:15, Deirdre McCann 39:54, Anne Boyd 41:48, Jennifer McCoppin 41:49, Dermot Boyd 41:50, Fidelma McCoppin 45:18, Fiona Wylie 46:28

Waterworks parkrun:
Patrick McGuckian 19:45, Alastair Houldsworth 22:13, Patrick Hamill 24:21, Roisin Brooks 27:44, Nikki Fleck 28:56, Joanne Milne 30:01, Duncan Baxter 31:06, Lord Ian Brennan 33:03, Kelly Carlisle 47:35, Jo Smyth 50:19

Antrim parkrun:
ADav 20:25, Alan Kerr 24:38, Elaine Kennedy 27:08, Tina Steele 34:25, Deborah Ewing 34:25
Alex Davidson has referred to me as Cav on two separate occasions now. Whilst his comments were both positive and welcome, such truncation is uncalled for and this uncouth behaviour requires retaliation. He will be henceforth be referred to as ADav.
Just be glad it wasn’t Alastair Houldsworth making the comments!

Ormeau parkrun:
Stephen Semple 24:20, Maeve Kennedy 26:35

Our junior section was not to be outdone this weekend either:

Waterworks Junior parkrun:
Joseph Eager 10:09, Cole Barrington 11:22, Ethan Barrington 11:37, Jamie Campbell 17:24 PB, Christopher Campbell 18:08

East Coast XC Series at Larne:
Minor 750m
Owen Millar 4:13
Junior 1500m
Ryan McCready 7:08

At this stage we should congratulate all our marathon trainers, especially the first timers, who are all hitting the big miles now and feeling the pain. Medical experts have told me that both alcohol and complaining on Facebook are both equally ineffective pain relief methods. Doesn’t stop you lot though.
Alastair Houldsworth (full name to be used at all times) deserves a special mention for his 35-mile training run as he works towards his first ultra.
But performance of the weekend must go to our header in chief, Michael McAuley. Mental/Metal Micky (take your pick, probably both) took on Atlas Running’s Last One Standing Challenge at Castle Ward. He completed over 100 miles running in approx. 24 hours. Michael, you are a legend, we salute you. Go lie down.

Michael, I did want to end this week’s report in your honour with NWA’s classic “100 Miles and Runnin’ ” but thought it might then be my last ever report. I know you like your tunes a bit heavier so please enjoy this classic, even if it is a number short.

Club Report: Sunday 11th February 2018

Another week, another blizzard. Well, it’s been no bed of roses, no pleasure cruise. I consider it a challenge before the whole human race and I ain’t gonna lose.

Yes, we are and, yes, I know what you want to read about. This is what we top end reporters call “building the excitement” and so first you have to read all the parkrun results:

Valley parkrun:

Tom Fleming 20:52, Neil McCready 23:07, Ciaran Skillen 27:08, Clare Teer 27:12, Gabrielle McMillan 28:25, Lee-Anne Hutchinson 29:51, Paul Skillen 29:54, Neil Campbell 29:56, Deirdre McCann 40:24, Erin Teer 42:51

Waterworks parkrun:

Matthew Cromie 22:00, Patrick Hamill 25:41, Anna Seaward 30:10

Antrim parkrun:

Nikki Fleck 26:53, Heather Barker 31:50 PB, Wes “The Gentleman” Barker 31:50 PB, Elaine Kennedy 36:10

Victoria parkrun:

Lonely (but very fast) pint Mark Smith 16:56

PB and 2nd place – well done Mark!

Queens parkrun:

Stephen Semple 23:39, Maeve Kennedy 26:40

Stormont parkrun:

Fiona Wylie 34:08, Fidelma “Cover Girl” McCoppin 34:10, Duncan Baxter 35:36

A couple of parkrun tourists again this week. Anna-Marie Nolan thought she was being exotic by making it as far as Colin Glen (29:06) but this was outdone by our own Mr A Davidson who bought another one of those cheap 18-30 deals online and ended up in Harrogate (21:24).

Dune Half Marathon

5 intrepid Harriers braved the cross-border cold this morning (Braltic anyone?) for the Newry to Dundalk race that kicks off the Pure Running Half Marathon Series for 2018:

Brendan McIlhennon 1:39:02, Sarah Knowles 1:55:27, Brian McDonald 1:57:01, David Esler 2:07:48, Elaine Kennedy 2:12:04.

Also, Nuala Muldoon may have done the NICHS Red Dress Run 10k this weekend. She may have done it in 44:20. Then again, she may not.

No junior parkrun this morning at Waterworks as nobody would be crazy enough to run in weather like that. Oh, aye, right, forgot…so on to the main event.

Today saw one of the biggest dates on the Mallusk Harrier calendar. The second running of our XC event and the inaugural year of the Mathieson Shield and Cup.

Runners, marshals, spectators and artic conditions all headed to Mallusk playing fields this morning. The weather was specially flown in by Paul Skillen to ensure the runners knew they were at a XC event and to remind them constantly that they were in Mallusk. Think they got it Paul.

Full results are available both on the XC race Facebook page and on the NI Running website but Harrier results were:

Girls Under 11

Sinead O’Hare 4:43, Mali Skillen 4:55, Olivia McCready 5:10, Eloise McAuley 5:20

Boys Under 11

Finn Diver 2:44 (3rd place), Ryan McCready 3:38, Ryan Millar 3:42, Joseph Eager 3:54, Owen Millar 4:18, Peter McCann 4:30, Leo McAuley 4:43, Odhran Skillen 5:19

Boys Under 13

Adam McCann 8:17

Ladies Race

Nuala Muldoon 28:45, Suzanne Brennan 29:17, Gabrielle McMillan 32:15, Roseann “obviously tougher than my husband” McGeown 42:36

The MH ladies team placed 2nd overall in the Mathieson Shield team event.

Mens Race

Mark Smith 28:42, Alan Ladd 32:15, Joe Mathers 32:38, Wes Barker 32:40, Lee O’Boyle 32:49, Neil McCready 36:26, Terry McIvor 36:34, Eamon Donaghy 40:15

The Magnificent Eight won the men’s team event and are the first holders of the Mathieson Cup.

Well done gents, great effort.

A big word of congratulations should go out to Paul Skillen and his team who put the whole event together. From organising to publicising, race day logistics, marshalling, timekeeping and scoring, catering, clearing up and even the runners. And not forgetting Mags as well for adding her name and prestige to the event.

A well-deserved hot cocoa, electric blanket and early night all round.

So, let’s end with a tune as usual.

It’s obvious, its cheesy, I’ve even teased it already but I’m going to bloody do it anyway.

Here’s to us!

Mark Smith 34:36 and another podium finish with 2nd place overall. Well done Mark, great to see the Harrier vest up there. Mark passed the XC baton back to the usual bunch of suspects for the popular Stormont XC event. In the Men’s event our Young Guns (Go for it!) were Alex Davidson 33:01 (a good recovery from his morning Parkrun Drubbing) and Kevin Donnelly 33:21. In the ladies’ event were Suzanne Brennan 26:53 and Nuala Muldoon 27:35. Flying the junior flag loud and proud were Ryan McCready 4:35 and Joseph Eager 4:38

Running furthest afield this week was our Chairman Alan R Kerr who took part in the Torremolinos Half Marathon, finishing in 1:52. Well done sir, enjoy the rest of your training camp. Ian recommends hydration training.

Speaking of hydration issues. Ian Brennan. The End.

Club Report: Sunday 28th January 2018

Well, another week, another 7 days filled with overindulgence and guilt. Xmas is so last year and the Spring target races are galloping towards us much faster than I’ll ever go.

But we are Harriers and are undaunted. The huge turnouts at recent Tuesday night training sessions at BRA pitches proves it. Well done to everyone for overcoming the seemingly permanent horizontal rain, biting wind and even Neil’s warm downs.

Valley Parkrun:

Tom Fleming 21:47, Terry McIvor 24:25, Ciaran Skillen 25:01, Owen Fulton 25:16, Lee-Anne Hutchinson 29:56, Yasmin Lynn 31:16, Debbie Sterritt 34:31, Jennifer McCoppin 34:32, Freda Stubbs 35:29, Maureen Ward 35:55 PB, Josi McKeating 36:01, Rosalind Stitt 37:58, Miriam Clarke 41:28

Congratulations Debbie on completing your 50th parkrun!

Waterworks Parkrun:

Matthew Cromie 22:14, Patrick Hamill 24:54, Brendan “birthday boy but not even up an age grade” McGeown 24:59, Stephen Semple 25:52, Maeve Kennedy 28:23, Anna-Marie Nolan 29:18, Elaine Kennedy 29:19, Roisin McLaughlin 32:00

Antrim Parkrun:

Neil Campbell 23:21, Alan Kerr 25:24, Nikki Fleck 26:00, Tina Steele 26:22, Deborah Ewing 26:55, Heather Barker 33:22, Wes Barker 33:22

Falls Parkrun:

Ken McAuley 23:56, Susan Thompson 24:09

Victoria Parkrun:

Laura Rose 22:41 Well done on a new PB, Alex Davidson 22:44, Dermot Boyd 31:46, Sharon Thompson 38:16

Carrickfergus Parkrun:

Owen Millar 30:10

This week’s tourists were Suzanne Brennan at Portrush 28:11 and Stephen Weir at Newcastle 33:04.

Not sure if it counts as tourism but Mr & Mrs Donaldson were at Wallace, completing in 21:52 and 32:44 respectively. Rumour has it that Tiffany thought she was going to Ormeau but ended up at a different parkrun. (These rumours are still to be confirmed).

Waterworks Junior Parkrun:

Joseph Eager 10:22, Ryan McCready 11:08, Leo McAuley 11:11 PB, Olivia McCready 12:35 PB, Eloise McAuley 15:13

Over on the dark side, i.e. Cross Country, our sole (and probably lonely) representative at the NI & Ulster event in Comber was Mark Smith in the men’s masters race, coming home in a very respectable 31:21. Our full basket of headers should be back in action for Stormont next week.

Some others went for the middle ground and headed to Drum Manor for the latest in the Sperrin Harriers Winter League. Taking on the 10k route were:

Patrick McGuckian 43:34 (15th place overall), Neil McCready 53:35, Fidelma McCoppin 1:12:55, Marie McFarlane 1:12:55 and Fiona Wylie 1:12:55 (great team running ladies, hope Neil and Paddy had the teas ready)

This morning our usual Sunday morning crew was joined by a lot of additional faces as they took on the Cherryburn Challenge, an event organised by Janet & Jim Grew to help raise funds for Meningitis Now. A great time was had by all, both in terms of running and eating, but mainly eating.

It is believed Jim is still at the sink doing the dishes. Janet was unavailable for comment.

I tried to find a song relevant to this week’s report but couldn’t. If you google running songs you get a worrying large number of replies that contain the Black-Eyed Peas. There is already enough suffering in the world so I’m just going to give you an underheard classic. But remember, it’s not because I like you, cus I don’t.

Club Report: Sunday 21st January 2018

Another week where my lunch hours were mainly spent praying for that post on Facebook and Team App that said training was cancelled. Alan Ladd, you are the man! Yes, my mojo is currently still on winter vacation in the Caribbean. Hopefully it will be back in time for Larne.

Results are a lot quieter this week with several cancellations due to the weather, but on to the few parkruns that survived…

Antrim parkrun:
Tina Steele 26:19, Alan Kerr 26:20, Elaine Kennedy 27:33, Nikki Fleck 31:24, Lucy Fleck 45:04

Ormeau parkrun:
Neil McCready 22:21, Susan Thompson 23:28, Ken McAuley 23:29, Jennifer McCoppin 31:31 PB, Ryan McCready 31:38, Marie McFarlane 31:59, Fidelma McCoppin 32:04, Fiona Wylie 32:07

Stormont parkrun:
Frances Kane 28:56, Patricia Kane 35:34

Victoria parkrun:
David Esler 25:12 PB, Alex Davidson 26:01

Malahide parkrun:
This week’s tourists are Stephen Semple 27:51 and Maeve Kennedy 27:52

The omission of Owen Fulton and his band of (very) merry men (and women) from this week’s parkrun results is noted. Owen is obviously taking Ian’s hydration training very seriously as he moves into his later years. Happy 40th birthday sir!

But on to the results…

Neil Campbell 21:01, David Esler 26:35, Sir Martin McCready 27:58, Neil McGlinchey 28:19, Frances Kane 30:09, Lisa Kerr 32:50, Stephen Weir 33:35, Patricia Kane 38:44

Mighty Oaks XC
Some of our toughest/maddest/craziest Harriers took on this re-arranged XC League event. Neither the weather nor the infamous Acorn Hill took pity on them and the photos look more like a war film than a running event. Therefore, an even bigger well done is due to those who took on the course: Mark Smith 28:37, Micky McAuley 32:23, Alan Ladd 34:25, Paul Skillen 39:11, Ciaran Skillen and Lee O’Boyle. Conquering Acorn Hill has proven to be easier than understanding the scoring system for the XC league for our runners, but with two events remaining, suffice to say the men have been delivering consistently throughout and are well positioned for a strong result in the league. Nuala Muldoon was our only competitor this time in the ladies’ event, coming home in 27:50.

At the same time as the XC runners were in action, so too were our fab four who also travelled west to hit the trails at An Creagan in the 5 Mile event which is part of the Sperrin Harriers Winter League: Neil McCready 37:37, Fidelma McCoppin 52:41, Marie McFarlane 55:33 and Fiona Wylie 55:33.

Sunday morning saw the 10@10 numbers rise from the single figures of recent weeks to well over twenty. Obviously there are a few Harriers out there now feeling the marathon/half marathon fear. If Paul’s almost vertical route did not put you off then nothing will.

This one’s for you Coach:

I was going to start by letting you know my new year’s resolution but, as I’m already perfect, I don’t need to make any. But good luck with yours. Maybe its to get faster, whilst still filling yourself with alcohol and cake.
But on to the results…

Race Over The Glens:
Held back on New Year’s Day, the results were in too late for last week’s report but some of the Harriers blew away the new year cobwebs with this popular, if tough, event: Lee O’Boyle (our new ROTM) 41:28, Micky McAuley 42:40, Sarah McCafferty 1:01:08, Pamela McCafferty 1:01:09,

Valley parkrun:
Noel Bloomfield 25:13, Nuala Muldoon 25:45, David Esler 28:10, Lee-Anne Hutchinson 30:19, Fidelma McCoppin 31:01, Michelle Ker 32:07, Debbie Sterritt 33:34, Frances Kane 34:54, Rosalind Stitt 43:28, Patricia Kane 43:28

Waterworks parkrun:
Matthew Cromie 21:50, Patrick Hamill 25:31, Tony McKeating 26:27, Roseann “I kept my headphones in to ignore him” McGeown 30:38 (50th parkrun – congratulations), Brendan “words of encouragement” McGeown 30:42, Jennifer McCoppin 30:47 PB, Lord Ian Brennan (ex-ROTM but never forgotten) 31:42, Freda Stubbs 31:51 PB, Fiona Wylie 31:55, Maureen Ward 34:57, Sharon Thompson 39:39

Antrim parkrun:
Patrick McGuckian 20:08 course PB, Ken McAuley 23:20, Susan Thompson 23:36, Sarah Knowles 24:22 PB, Sir Martin McCready 24:22, Paul Skillen 24:46, Elaine Kennedy 27:02, Neill McGlinchey 28:26, Ethan Barrington 28:47 PB, Tina Steele 28:56, Deborah Ewing 29:12, Louise Ladd 30:26 PB, Dermot Boyd 33:04, Joanne Milne 36:46, Sharon Dunn 37:02, Cole Barrington 37:08, Anna-Marie Nolan 37:31. Congratulations to Elaine on running her 100th parkrun. Well done Elaine!

Ecos Ballymena parkrun:
Michael McFarlane 25:55 PB

Portrush parkrun:
Alastair Houldsworth 24:10, Katherine Todd 57:40

Born to Run Tollymore 10k:
Taking on the forest paths later on 6th were: Joe Mathers 42:48, Owen “comeback kid” Fulton 53:37, Clare Teer 1:00:47, Ian Simpson 1:17:53

IAAF Antrim International XC:
Also on 6th was this top class event, with CAFRE Greenmount hosting a world class international field. It was great to see the Harriers out mixing it with the big boys and girls and competing as a team as well as individuals:

Men’s Senior Race:
Mark Smith 30:48, Alan Ladd 36:23, Kevin Donnelly 38:16, Neil McCready 38:24 (and winner of best photo competition)

Women’s Senior Race:
Nuala Muldoon 30:02, Suzanne Brennan 30:46, Angela Stevenson 35:06. As a team, the MH ladies came 10th overall. Great team effort. The men’s results are still something of a mystery.

So 2017 is over, the slates have been wiped clean.
It’s time to buckle up and hit the roads in pursuit of those PBs and new distances all over again. We’re a club, so support each other. It’s always easier to hit your targets with others helping you along the way.

To help, here’s the perfect tune to run to. If I can’t improve your running, at least I might improve your musical taste.

Club Report: Monday 1st January 2018

Folks, with so much going on, your weekly news report is a long one so you might as well grab a cuppa now.

Your humble reporter made the brave decision yesterday to delay the report so that all the NYD parkruns could be included.
Why, oh why? Yesterday, I was a year younger, less ill and the screen was definitely more in focus. Plus, I’ve also now realised most of you have spent your entire week running at parkruns and elsewhere. So this week it is less sarcasm, more results. You have only yourselves to blame. Here we go……

Hazelbank Christmas 5 Mile Run
It seems a long time ago now but a few Harriers got their calorie burn in early with this pre-Xmas event:
Yasmin Lynn 45:12, Angela Stevens 46:26, Hilary Faith 51:22, Nicola Hunter-Boyd 57:17, Freda Stubbs 57:27, Patricia Kane 1:06:02

(Apologies if anyone has been missed at other Xmas/New Year runs. Report by club is not available for these extra dates and so it’s a manual trawl through the websites)

Castlewellan Christmas Cracker
This increasingly popular pairs event took place over a very tough multi-terrain course with several Harriers declaring their retirement from international athletics at various points around the course. These decisions were obviously reversed after the first post-race drink and a great time was had by all, even if the legs and trainers may not agree:

Michael McAuley/Alex Davidson 1:20:34, Neil McCready/Martin McCourt 1:39:55, Suzanne “Splitter” Brennan/Eric “this week’s guest star” Montgomery 1:41:44, Gabrielle McMillan/Lord Ian Brennan ROTM 1:57:00, Yasmin Lynn/Terry McIvor 2:11:03

Muff Glen Trail
Lee O’Boyle took his hot PB streak off-road and onto the trails finishing this 4.2 mile race in 29:18

EAMS Half Marathon
Angela Stevens 2:12:10 PB – well done Angela, good to see the Dublin training still paying dividends, and definitely a medal worth showing off.

ROTG results will follow.

So no jokes, no songs, just a dark room and a cold damp cloth.
I love 2018.

Until next week, behave.

Club Report: Sunday 24th December 2017

Well, twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
Mainly because we were all watching Die Hard and eating Quality Street.

Hopefully you have recovered from Nuala’s Santa Run or the Grew’s mulled wine or whatever running you managed this weekend. Despite what you think, the calorie count did not swing in your favour. But ignorance is bliss; let’s make it next week’s problem.

Valley parkrun:
Alex Davidson 20:11, Neil Campbell 21:47, Nuala Muldoon 24:57, Paul Skillen 26:29, Yasmin Lynn 27:04, Neill McGlinchey 27:23, Clare Teer 28:01 (and 50th parkrun, well done Clare on hitting that target!) Sir Martin McCready 28:28, Dermot Boyd 33:17, Patricia Kane 41:17, Frances Kane 45:15

Waterworks parkrun:
Susan Thompson 23:28, Robert Gould 23:29, Patrick Hamill 26:04, Lord Ian Brennan ROTM 26:13, Patrick McGuckian 28:53, Fiona Wylie 29:54, Jennifer McCoppin 34:20, Fidelma McCoppin 34:21, Marie McFarlane 34:21, Deirdre McCann 38:51

Antrim parkrun:
Lee O’Boyle 19:27 (2nd PB in two weeks) Tom Fleming 20:18, Stephen Semple 24:46, Janet Grew 28:30

Stormont parkrun:
Duncan Baxter 34:42

We also had a few Harriers out on tour this week:

Citypark (Craigavon) parkrun
Elaine Kennedy 28:01

Danny and Tiffany Donaldson went somewhere even more cosmopolitan than Craigavon. (Not possible I hear you cry).
Both were at Bois de Boulogne near Paris. However, in true French style, results for 23rd are not posted yet. Sacrebleu!
Let’s just say Tiffany won, with Danny a close second, and that there were loads of croissants and patisserie all round.

My presents to you all are on the way. Having read all your Facebook posts this year, you’re all getting dictionaries!

But for 24 hours tomorrow I will drop the sarcasm and allow in some Xmas spirit. So, enjoy some quality time with loved ones. Don’t message, WhatsApp or text them. Actually, phone them or go see them in real life! (You’ll be ignoring them again come January once the new season sets in anyway)

I’ll leave you with a much under played Xmas classic:

Until next week, behave.
